PLANETE Femmes at the Courthouse gallery in Thirsk is a photography exhibition featuring portraits of women across the globe.
The artists come from diverse backgrounds and this is evident in the work. Each photograph tells an engaging story from different corners of the world: views of daily life, an event, a feeling and open up a world of imagination.
The exhibition at the Rural Arts venue is in conjunction with Alliance Francaise de York, including work from the International Photography Contest Alliance.
The Fondation Alliance Française jury is chaired by agnès b. and made up of other professionals from the world of art and media. The awardwinning photographs, first exhibited in Paris, are a world tour.
The show opens today and runs until August 31. The Courthouse is open from 10am-4.30pm, Monday to Saturday. For more details, visit ruralarts.org or call 01845-526536.
