WITH more signings expected to follow, Darlington Mowden Park have announced the arrival of two overseas players.

Back row man Luca Petillo, who has won three Italy A caps, will be joined at The Northern Echo Arena by scrum half Bruno Bravo, who has played for the Argentinian sevens team.

Both are 26 and while Petillo will be gaining his first experience of club rugby outside Italy, Bravo has spent the last two seasons with Doncaster Knights.

He is dropping down one division to join Mowden, but said: “Having visited the club at the end of last season I was immediately impressed by the facilities and the coaching staff's rugby ethos. They like to promote an attacking game.”

Petillo, who played for Cavalieri Prato in the Italian Super 10, captained his country at under 19 and 21 level and has appeared in the European Challenge Cup.

Mowden's head coach John Newton said: “We are delighted with both signings. Luca is a big ball-carrying threat and Bruno is a fast, strong and niggly scrum half who will be a great link and a threat with his elusive footwork.”
