SKIPTON Bultaco rider James Moorhouse won the annual Blue Bar Trophy Trial on Sunday from Summerbridge Sherco rider, and MRS Sherco employee Phillip Hammond who finished the dramatic two-day event in Coverdale one penalty ahead of Braidley farmer Stephen Lambert.

Almost 160 riders competed in the trial which was open only to machines dated Pre-65, twin Shock or by age of competitor.

Torrential rain on Saturday necessitated total changes of the course.

HEAVY showers at Harwood Dale through the afternoon gave Scarborough club’s second club trial extra bite, but lone master class entrant Jack Howell from Port Mulgrave proved in fine form.

Pocklington’s Ollie Kendra held off a strong challenge by Mark Harrison to win expert class and it was the tight, awkward wall root of Ron Noble’s doing the damage with ten lost for Harrison to Kendra’s five. This had a few of the class acts a bit untidy and hanging on as well as some of the lesser lights, but top men here were Howell, Andy Lockwood and James Wainwright, cleaning every lap.

Fryup’s Nikita Smith put in a strong ride to beat Shane Monkman by just two marks with Lockwood a further mark adrift. Her consistency on the last couple of sections earned her the win. Glaizedale’s Andrew Dale held it together for Class B class victory.

FIVE down and seven to go and Cookridge Beta UK teamster James Dabill is holding seventh place in the world rankings after Sunday’s ultra-tough Corsica event. Adam Raga won the day and is two points ahead of Toni Bou in the standings.

Takahisa Fujinami just headed Dabill in the results. The other Brits sadly just made up the numbers. Jack Sheppard 12th, Alexz Wigg 13th and Michael Brown 14th.

CURRENT Yorkshire Centre trials champion Sam Yeadon won the third event in the West Yorkshire Trials Championship series on Sunday at rain swept Addingham Moorside.

IT IS a busy time for trials riders over the holiday weekend with many events on, but Eboracum MC still received a good entry for Monday’s third round club trial at Thorgill, Rosedale.

This rocky moorland outcrop brought the best out of 20-yearold Beta rider Jack Howell from Port Mulgrave. In fine form at present, he followed Sunday’s Scarborough win with another superb ride, just three marks lost, to take the laurels ahead of Pocklington teenager Ollie Kendra by nine marks. Kendra just dropping off the pace as the Gasser spun out for a five on the greasy adverse camber of Frank Hildrick’s section nine. Teesside’s Rob Carter finished third. Beta mounted Paul Carter topped clubman A class with outstanding ride.
