DIVISION ONE leaders Robert Thompsons extended their run of wins to 11 matches last Sunday with a 9-0 thrashing of Broughton Hibs. Stu Rose had completed a hat-trick inside the opening ten minutes and went on to score six times, while Liam McCalmont, Chris Padget, and Ryan Mckendry were also on target.

Henleys Atheltic remain second, level on points but having played two games more, after a late 2-1 win at Travaux FC. Dan Morris fired the hosts into a 73rd minute lead but goals in the final ten minutes from Adam Pearson and Dan Walker gave Henleys a vital three points.

Northallerton Police are third, three points off the top with a game in hand, after beating bottom side Brompton-on-Swale, 6-0. A Michael Gunnell cross was turned into his own net by a Brompton defender after just nine minutes and that set the tone for the first half. Sean Radford, Ben Darville, Dan Baxter and Kalumn Holbrook made it 5-0 at the break before Si Pinkney's late header completed the scoring.

Sportsmans FC beat Blue Star, 5-1. Scott McNichol and Ed Craven put the Sporties in control by the break while in the second half, McNichol completed his hat-trick while Craven sealed the points.

Stokesley SC won 2-0 at struggling Catterick Village. Goals in either half from Daniel Meads and Callum Cuthbert gave the visitors only a third league victory of the season.

The big game in Division Two saw leaders Brompton Juniors face third-placed Gt. Ayton Sheriffs. The Sheriffs knew victory would take them to within three points of the leaders with two games in hand but despite scoring four times through an Ashley Woodier brace and strikes from Joe Marsey and Mark Shimwell, it was not enough to prevent a 6-4 defeat. Colin Anderson scored four times for Brompton while Adam Wilson and Tom Simpson were also on target.

AFC Beckside are now second after a 3-2 home success against Fleece Inn. First half goals from Mark Swanwick, inside 20 seconds, Johnny Dye and Richard Snowdon looked to have set Beckside on their way to a comfortable three points. But in the second half, Callum Bishop and Paul Humphreys scored for the Fleece to set up a grandstand finale.

Golden Lion roared to a 6-3 victory at Topcliffe. Neil Hemingbrough, Kyle O'Gorman and Tom Chapman all scored for the Lion in the first half, while a Jon Wood brace and a goal from Chris Hope in the second period sealed the points.

Cowtons beat Osmotherley Rangers by the same score. Teenager Matthew Marsey headed Rangers into an early lead but Mark Sims, Nathan O'Connor and Tom Armstrong saw Cowtons lead at the break. Rich Thompson scored twice in the second half for Rangers; all three of their goals created by the impressive Andy Ranson, but Sims struck three more to ensure victory for Cowtons.

Division Three leaders Knayton maintained their three point lead at the top of the table with an 11-0 thrashing of ten-man Vale of York. Matt Fishburn led the way with a five-goal salvo, while Martin Kendall struck twice. Matt Sandford, Sam Rayner, Chris Cowton and Ryan Clarke then completed the scoring in a rather one-sided encounter.

Standard FC are second after seeing off the challenge of Jolly Minister, 3-1. First half goals from Bart Schofield and Dean Greig were added to by Phil Sharpe after the restart before Matty Carrick scored a late Minister consolation.

Workies lost ground on the leaders after being held to a 4-4 draw by County Arms. Jordan Wallace and Chris Foster put County into a shock early 2-0 lead but midway through the first half, Tom Roidan halved the deficit. Glenn Warris grabbed a third for County but goals either side of the break from Dave Tennant and Roidan again levelled it up. County looked set for victory when Wallace added his second, fifteen minutes from time, but Tennant grabbed an 81st minute equaliser to earn the Workies a point.

Thirsk Town continued their charge up the table with a 7-1 win over improving Oddfellows Arms, while Romanby 2014 are up to fifth after an 8-3 victory over Masham. Miles Johnson scored twice for Masham along with Mark Hullah.
