BECKETT League team Gillamoor won the Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy final on Monday evening at Thornton-le-Dale, beating Rosedale 5-3.

Gillamoor took the lead after just 33 seconds when Luke Mclaren scored. They doubled their lead after 17 minutes with a second Mclaren goal and then a Jack Dowson corner was headed onto the crossbar by Ryan Rivis and Mclaren followed up to score.

In the second half Jono Thompson scored for Rosedale after 57 minutes following a 18-yard shot and they equalised after 83 minutes when Kyle Clacherty scored following a right wing cross by Tim Hodgson.

Within a minute Sam Appleton scored to restore Gillamoor’s lead and two minutes later Clacherty scored his second goal to equalise for Rosedale.

Gillamoor won the game with stoppage-time goals scored by Appleton and Daryl Rivis to complete a “cup double” after their 3-2 Victory Cup win on Friday night against Union Rovers.
