SPORTSMANS FC increased their lead at the top to nine points after a 3-0 win at Broughton and Kirkby Hibs last Sunday. Sporties’ goals came from James Coatsworth, Aaron Ramsbottom and Alex Caisley.

Northallerton Police lost 3-2 at home to Stokesley SC. Early goals from Jimmy Greening and Callum Cuthbert put the visitors in control, but Graham Caygill reduced the Police deficit. However, Stokesley made it 3-1 on the hour when a cross from Michael James was turned past his own keeper by Simon Pinkney, and although David Cooke scored with a free kick 15 minutes from time,the visitors held on.

Catterick Village boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 victory at Blue Star.

The big game at the top of Division Two saw third-placed Northallerton WMC win 2-0 at leaders Travaux FC to cut the gap at the top to four points with four games in hand.

Wayne Thompson gave the Workies a second minute lead but it was not until six minutes from time that Dan Baxter finally sealed the points.

Appleton Wiske beat Three Coopers 4-1. Dan Jones struck a hat-trick while Chris Legg was also on target before Mark Patchett scored a late Coopers consolation.

Knayton moved off the bottom with a 2-1 win over visitors Cowtons. Gerry Metcalfe gave Cowtons a half time lead but Andrew Parkinson equalised midway through the second half. The stage was then set for Ron Wake to grab a stoppage time winner.

Streetlam Farmers eased their relegation fears with a 2-1 home win over Leyburn All-Stars. First half goals from Nigel Tallentine and Jamie Callaghan appeared to have put the Farmers in control but Lee Davison pulled a goal back for Leyburn midway through the second half. However, the Farmers held on to move out of the bottom three.

Brompton-on-Swale beat Ainderby SC3-2.TomPtakput Brompton ahead from the penalty spot before David Addison made it 2-0 at the break.

Ainderby struck back in the second half with goals from Anthony Thompson and Kyle O’Gorman to level it up but Brompton would not be denied and Ali Logan struck the winner ten minutes from time.

The Ship thrashed Bar One 9-0. Tom Keegan and Scott Ryan both hit hat-tricks while Lee White, Jonathan Fox and Rory Atkinson completed the rout.

Osmotherley Rangers sealed their promotion from Division Three with a 7-0 home win over Masham. Rich Thompson and Robbie Nelmes put Rangers on the way before the break while both struck again in the second half along with Jay Hibbins, Tom Pelling and Jason Honeyman.
