DIVISION One leaders Sportsmans FC increased their unbeaten record this season to 23 matches with a 10-0 victory at Croft FC last Sunday. Col Anderson led the way with a four-goal haul while Nathan Pratt scored twice. Aaron Ramsbottom, Alex Caisley, Scott McNichol and an own goal then completed the rout.

Northallerton Police remain second, six points behind but with three games in hand, after a 5-1 home win over relegation-threatened Catterick Village. A David Cooke volley and header from Johnny Morris put the Police in control by the break, although Nick Armstrong put Village right back in to it just after the restart - heading home an Adam Hodgkins on free kick.But Sam Vernalls restored the Police’s two-goal advantage soon after, before late efforts from Graham Caygill and Morris again sealed the points.

Robert Thompsons are up to third after a 2-1 victory over League Challenge Cup finalists Henleys Athletic. Tom McDowell and Stu Rose twice gave Thompsons a first half lead, either side of a Lee Fox equaliser, and that was the way it finished.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Broughton and Kirby Hibs won 4-0 at Blue Star.

Division Two leaders Travaux FC maintained their two point advantage at the top of the table after a late 4-3 win at Ainderby SC. Andrew MacIntosh and Chris Duckett appeared to have put Travaux in control inside half an hour, but Matt Fishburn and John Dolan scored either side of the break to bring Ainderby level. Pete Hurry restored the Travaux advantage but Kyle O’Gorman made it 3-3 with a little over ten minutes remaining. However,Travaux would not be denied a vital three points as Dan Morris grabbed a dramatic 85th minute winner.

Osmotherley FC remain two points behind with two games in hand after another late goal gave them a 2-1 home success against Brompton-on-Swale.

James Harrison turned home a Martyn Pugh free kick to give Ossie a narrow half time advantage but Tom Ptak equalised from the penalty spot midway through the second half. However, with time running out, a cross from Elliot Hollis was turned into his own net by Ryan Samways to give Ossie the points.

Northallerton WMC could still win the title after a 4-1 home win over Leyburn All Stars. Charlie Aliss gave the visitors an early lead but Ross Hodgson and Dan Baxter turned the match in the Workies favour before the break. Mikey Stevens then made it 3-1 soon after the restart before Hodgson wrapped up the points late on.

Appleton Wiske are level on points with the Workies after they also enjoyed a 4-1 home win, beating The Ship. Dan Jones scored twice in each half for the hosts. Scott Ryan replied for The Ship.

Cowtons enjoyed a 3-2 home win over Bar One. Dan Peck and Martin Clark scored for the hosts in the first half but it took a last minute effort from Mark Sims to seal a win.

Knayton did their survival hopes a power of good with a 3-2 home win over fellow strugglers Street lam Farmers.

Nigel Tallentine put the Farmers ahead with a solo effort after 15 minutes but the hosts were level soon after when the Farmers thought the ball went out of play and were about to restart with a goal kick when Chris Cowton nipped in to score. John Martin and Cowton again sealed the points for Knayton before a late Tallentine header reduced the arrears.

With Division Three leaders West Tanfield not in action, second-placed Topcliffe were able to cut the gap at the top to eight points with four games in hand with a 5-1 win at Farmers Arms. Luke Burnett struck twice while Duncan Padget, Matthew Lawley and Ben Scaling completed the scoring.

Matthew Raw was on target for the Farmers.

Elsewhere, County Arms won 2-1 at Masons Arms.

Matty Fowler scored twice for County before Wayne Coyle reduced the arrears from the spot early in the second period.

Bottom side Northern Dons enjoyed a rare victory as goals from Gav Farr,Roy Smith, Ash Wells and Paul Fyfe gave them a 4-2 victory at Masham, while Station Hotel beat Brompton FC 3-0 thanks to strikes from Lian Hall, Gary Toman and Ryan Wilson.
