COLBURN Town are the new league leaders after they ended Unicorn FC’s unbeaten record with a 2-1 away victory last Saturday. The hosts began the day on top with an 18- matchunbeatenruntodefend, but Mark Jamieson gave Colburn the lead inside the opening minute. Gary Nicholson brought the hosts level midway through the first half, but Colburn went back in front before the break when Nige Cole turned home a free kick. Unicorn stepped up the pressure in the second half but Colburn held on to move two points clear at the top.

RichmondBuckInnare level on points with Colburn at the top after a 2-0 home win over Catterick Rovers. Mark Swanwick headed home a corner from Paul Ramsay 20 minutes from time to put the Buck in front, while Ramsay then claimed the second directly from a corner.

Spennithorne and Harmby moved into the top six as a thrilling comeback saw them beat visitors Redmire United 4-3. Phil Sharp gave United an early lead but Liam Reeves smashed home a 30 yard volley to bring the hosts level.

However, Sharp added two more, the second of which came from the penalty spot, to put Redmire in control before the break, but Ben Prichard reduced the arrears in the final minute of the first half. It was all Spenni in the second period and Carl Burnett headed home an Ian Clarkson free kick to bring them level ten minutes after the restart before substitute John Russell grabbed the winner.

Hawes United enjoyed a 6-1 home win over Carperby Rovers. Dan Peacock and Steve Calvert put Hawes in control by the break, while a second half brace from Jonathon Champion, a penalty from Lloyd Iveson and a second from Calvert sealed the points in the second half.

Shaun Sproates grabbed a late Rovers consolation.

Reeth recorded a 7-0 home victory over bottom side Hawes Gayle. The match was over as a contest before the break as an early own goal was followed by a brace from Steve Bainbridge and a strike from Joe Woodall. Bainbridge completed his hat-trick in the second half before John Williams and Shaun Charlton made it 7-0.

Catterick Garrison Football Centre completed a smashand-grab 2-1 home victory over Richmond Town Academy. Despite dominating the first half, the Academy found themselves behind at the break when Damian Hargreaves scored in what was Catterick’s only meaningful attack. The second half followed a similar pattern as Pete Hurry made it 2-0 with another breakaway goal before Sam Vernon grabbed a late consolation for the Academy.
