DIVISION One leaders Sportsmans FC saw their lead at the top of the table cut to three points after they were held to a 3-3 draw by visitors Robert Thompsons last Sunday. A Scott McNichol penalty gave the Sporties an early lead but Jamie Howe and Ryan McKendry turnedthematchin Thompons favour within half anhour.Col Andersonbrought the leaders level before the break, but Chris Moores looked to have won it for Thompons early in the second half. However, James Coatsworth grabbed the equaliser 15 minutes from time.

Northallerton Police are now just three points off the top with two games in hand after a 5-0 victory atBlue Star.

It was a comfortable win for the Police in the end as a Ben Darville hat-trick and further strikes from Liam Darville and Chris Pattison sealed the points. In fact it would have closer to double figures had it notbeenfor theheroics of Star goalkeeper James Lee, whose penalty save from Ben Darville was the highlight of a man of the match performance.

Broughton and Kirkby Hibs kept themselves in the title race as a last minute equaliser from Janisar Hussain gave them a 1-1 draw at home to fellow-challengers Henleys Athletic. A win for the visitors would have put them just two points behind the leaders and a goal from Mark Hemmingway midway through the second half looked to have given them just that, but with seconds left,Hussainstruckto ensure the points were shared.

At the other end of the table Stokesley SC are now all but safe from the drop after a 4-0 home success against Tithe Bar. James Greening and Lee Donachie struck in the first half, while Michael James and Callum Cuthbert completed the scoring after the break.

Tithe are now in serious trouble as they sitjust one point off the bottom having played more games than all the sides around them.

Northallerton WMC are the new leaders in Division Two after a 4-1 win over Knayton.

Mickey Stevens put the Workies ahead early on while a second half hat-trick from his brother Dan Baxter sealed the points. It was a real family affair too as their father Glendon created Baxter’s third.

Andrew Parkinson replied for Knayton. It has been a remarkable season for the Workies as they have already qualified for the final of the Bob Seymour Trophy and are through to the semi- finals of the North Riding Cup.

Leyburn All-Stars put themselves back in the promotion race with a 5-3 home victory over Bar One. An early brace from Steve Butterworth and a strike from Lee Davison put Leyburn in control inside half an hour, but Ben Wood and Lee Manamley scored either side ofthe break to putthe visitors right back in to it. However, Ashley Lytolis and Adam Gray sealed the points for Leyburn before Paul Humphreys scored a late Bar consolation.

Brompton-on-Swale had to hang on for a 1-0 success at Streetlam Farmers after Ryan Samways was sent off fifteen minutes from time. Gary Nicholson had scored what proved to be the winner early in the first half.

Division Three leaders West Tanfield were made to fight all the way for a 6-4 victory over Northern Dons. The two sides had shared 14 goals earlier in the season and the Dons got the perfect start when Kris Frost lobbed them in front after four minutes. But the leaders were level soon after when Lewis King was brought down in the area and Mike Cooper scored from the spot.

King then scored twice in quick succession before Chris Metcalfe made it 4-1. Sean McCaskill reduced the arrears at the break but any hope of a Dons fight back looked over within ten minutes of the restart when Metcalfe grabbed his second. Ash Wells did make it 5-3 with a 50-yard free kick on the hour, but Tanfieldsubstitute KarolRatajzcak sealed the points soon after.Frost did grab a late secondfor theDons withasolo effort but it was no more than a consolation in the end as Tanfield maintained their eightpoint advantage at the top.

Topcliffe remain second after theybeatMashamfor the second week in a row. A second half brace from Dion Costick was just enough to give Topcliffe a 2-1 success, although another fine performance from Masham goalkeeper John Craddock had keptthem at bay for long periods. Gareth Sargent had earlier given Masham a half time lead.

Brompton FC are up to fourth after a 2-0 home win over Farmers Arms, Scorton.

Joe Clarkson and Lee Shardha grabbed the goals either side of the break.

Vale of York could mount a surprise promotion push after a 5-1 win over Masons Arms lifted them into the top five.

Mike Beales struck a hat-trick whileCraigFinlay strucktwice as Vale eased to a comfortable victory.

Station Hotel beat visitors Jolly Minister 3-1. Deano Hill hit a brace while Liam Hall was also on target. Sam Bird replied for the Ministermen.

The final game of the day saw Osmotherley Rangers and County Arms fight out a drab 0-0 draw.
