Reality hits home for Darlington
THE reality of missing out on promotion from League Two will be all too clear when Darlington kick-off the 2008-09 season on Saturday, August 9.
The Quakers will face newly-promoted Exeter City on the opening weekend of the new campaign, less than three months after the Grecians won promotion from the Blue Square Premier through the play-offs.
Darlington will follow their opening fixture with a trip to Notts County, a home game with Gillingham and a visit to Macclesfield.
Dave Penney's side will visit Bury on Boxing Day, and there are no fixtures scheduled for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.
Darlington's first game on 2009 will be a home game with Bournemouth on January 3, and the Quakers will finish the season with an away game at Chester on May 2.
