DARLINGTON have signed utility player Adam Nowakowski from Harrogate Town.

The 27-year-old, who started his career at Leeds United, has played in virtually every position in his career - even as an emergency goalkeeper.

Town supporters voted him player of the year in 2013-14, and this season he started 19 Conference North games before leaving Harrogate following six years' service. He now wants to help Quakers climb up the football ladder.

Manager Martin Gray said: “He’s a big lad, who can play centre midfield, centre back and centre forward. He’s very strong, aggressive and workmanlike, and has played plenty of games two leagues above us.”

Nowakowski is Gray’s second summer signing, following winger Rob Youhill, who was signed a fortnight ago from Town’s neighbours Harrogate RA.
