YOU report that East Renfrewshire Council plans to introduce 20 car-parking places for pupils (March 24). This is not the case and the council has no such plans.
In response to the thoughts of the consultants, the council's view is likely to be that it is not desirable for pupils to come to school by car for a whole myriad of reasons, not the least of which are young driver safety, pupil fitness, and the environmental impact of yet more cars in Eastwood Park.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
