Darlington produce souvenir programme
8:00am Thursday 6th June 2013 in News
Darlington have produced a souvenir programme to celebrate the club's first promotion since 1991.
Quakers won the Northern League title last season in record-breaking style, finishing 13 points ahead of Spennymoor Town, and scoring 145 goals in the process.
The programme includes interviews with players including Steven Johnson, Gary Brown and David Dowson as well as an in-depth analysis of the season by manager Martin Gray, plus a focus on Quakers' best goals of the season.
Gray said: "It's great to see the whole season captured for fans in this special programme. There's something for everyone in it and I'm sure it will become a treasured item."
Martin Jesper, Darlington's chief executive officer, added: "It's a fabulous and lasting opportunity for our fans and the wider community to relive the excitement of last season and to share it again in person with Martin Gray and some of the players, who made it all possible."
The special edition has been put together by the team behind the club's award-winning programme.
Programme editor Ray Simpson said: "The celebrations after the Team Northumbria and Guisborough games, when Darlington won the title, will live long in the memory of Darlington fans, so we decided to put everything together into a 72-page bumper issue.
"There are lots of happy memories from many players and officials, along with plenty of photographs. It really will be a great addition to every Darlington fans' collection of memorabilia."
The souvenir programme, which costs £5, will be launched at the Dolphin Centre, Darlington on Saturday morning with some of the players and Gray in attendance from 10-11am.
The Northern League trophy will also be present and available for supporters to be photographed with.
