WHEN Rob Long wrote Cheers, everybody wanted to know his name. Then the hit sitcom finished and to avoid becoming a nobody, he had to come up with a success of his own.

This struggle forms the basis of Conversations With My Agent. In book-form it's an intimate insight into an insane industry. On stage Gary Parker's energetic adaptation brings the characters to life brilliantly in a production which occupies an agreeable middle ground between naturalistic drama and the stylised sitcom which is Long's forte. Typically, Lolly Susi's Agent is hysterical without being stereotyped.

The only drawback might be the one or two audience members who guffaw slightly too loudly at the in-jokes. Despite this, an hour about making things funny makes for a very funny hour.
