Nathan Fisher is the surprise name on the Spennymoor Town team sheet against former club Darlington this evening at Heritage Park.

The forward’s first-team opportunities have been limited since leaving Quakers for Town, but he gets the nod this evening against his former team-mates.

Alongside Fisher in the Town team is fellow former Quaker Joe Tait, who at the heart of defence plays alongside Chris Mason who came through the youth ranks at The Northern Echo Arena ten years ago.

On Spennymoor’s bench is Paul Johnson, John McReady, Anthony Peacock and Dan Groves, all of whom have previously played for Quakers.

Darlington revert to the team which beat Burscough 11 days ago, so of the XI that defeated Scarborough Athletic 4-0 on Saturday Mark Bell, David Dowson and Terry Galbraith drop to the bench. Liam Hatch is injured.

Darlington are looking to strengthen their position at the top of the table, while Spennymoor want revenge having lost 2-0 to Quakers in the second game of the season at the Brewery Field.

Both teams are in good form, with Quakers having won their last nine matches in league and FA Trophy, while Town have won five of their last six league games.
