Martin Gray will hope to unearth more talented teens such as Andrew White when his academy holds trials later this month.

In conjunction with Darlington College, the Martin Gray Football Academy holds trials for potential BTEC students during the half-term holiday.

And White, a BTEC student at Darlington College, is among the academy's biggest success stories, having recently been selected by England Schoolboys.

The teenager received the call to represent the English Schools Football Association Under-18s team alongside two fellow Durham County players, Dean Briggs and Adam Curry. Paul Braithwaite of Cleveland has also been selected.

White, a defender, featured in Darlington's first team last season and Gray says that the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport provides students with an opportunity to further their career, including the potential to play for the club's under-18s.

Gray said: "The course is designed to provide a radical, exciting and different opportunity for young people in Darlington and the surrounding areas to study for a BTEC Diploma in Sport at levels 3 and 2."

Trials are being held at Darlington Rugby Club's Blackwell Meadows on February 15 from 10am for a 10.30am start.

All are welcome to attend for initial assessment.
