Gateshead midfielder Rob Ramshaw says he has returned to Darlington on loan for a month.

There has been no official confirmation yet from the Heed or Darlington, but he tweeted the news this afternoon.

The 20-year-old was a product of Quakers' youth system under Craig Liddle at The Northern Echo Arena, one of several teennagers to make the breakthrough during a torrid campaign.

Dale Hopson, also now back at the club, was also given a run in the first team.

Ramshaw, a central midfielder, made 11 appearances in the second half of the 2011-12 season for Darlington in the Conference, seven as a sub.

He joined Gateshead in the summer of 2012 and made his Conference debut earlier this season.

His arrival at Quakers comes 24 hours after striker Steven Johnson joined Shildon. However, Darlington have retained Johnson's registration so he could still play for the club if required.

Darlington visit tenth-placed Kendal Town on Saturday while their next Heritage Park match is a crunch clash on Saturday, February 8 against Curzon Ashton.
