THE airline serving the inter-isles air route in the Western Isles yesterday introduced a cheap fare - but it may only appeal to sightseers in a hurry.
For a flat fare of #40, British Regional Airlines will take you from Stornoway to Benbecula, helping you to appreciate the view along the way. Just 40 minutes after landing, however, you have to return to the plane and go all the way back again. The same sightseer fare deal is on offer to anyone on Benbecula who wants to head north and see the delights of Harris and Lewis from above. The current cheapest normal fare for Stornoway to Benbecula is #74 and the open return is #112, plus taxes.
