Martin Gray was keen to thank Darlington supporters for boosting Saturday's attendance in the wake of his rallying call.
In The Northern Echo last week the Quakers manager pleaded for support having been left disappointed by the gate of 1,133 at Heritage Park nine days ago.
For Saturday's 0-0 home draw with Harrogate RA, 1,253 were in attendance - the second highest of Darlington's four games at Heritage Park this season.
Gray said: "The fans were very good, they made a lot of noise and the extra numbers that came are appreciated, so I'd like to thank them for that.
"One or two might have thought I was having a pop last week, but I wasn't. We're grateful for those that come every week and those extra fans that came today.
"They got behind us and they didn't get frustrated with us even though we didn't take our chances."
