The four clubs contesting the Macmillan Cup finals day will have another go tomorrow after last week's showpiece occasion had to be postponed when the host ground of Guisborough was flooded.

In the worst season on record for weather-curtailed fixtures it perhaps came as no surprise that yet more matches fell victim, but for a couple of the teams involved the delay means a slight change of personnel.

Richmondshire, who play Guisborough in the second semi-final starting at 1.30pm, have to reckon without professional Gary Pratt.

He had asked for release from his Cumberland duties last weekend and was all set to play, but tomorrow he will be leading his minor counties side out at Bournemouth in the MCCA Trophy semi-final against Dorset as his club colleagues try to get to grips with the Priorymen. Mike Fleming replaces him.

Both Guisborough and Great Ayton feature the same line-ups as planned last week, while Stokesley, who meet their rivals in the first semi-final at 10am, have Josh Linton back from holiday.

Clubs begin the second half of the league season today and Richmond, who clawed back a chunk of Darlington's healthy lead last weekend, begin today with a trip to rivals Barnard Castle.

Pratt will play before setting off for the south coast, although Ali Raper is unavailable. His place is taken by Steven Mather while Barney show one change with Rob Dixon replacing Bret Upton.

Sedgefield were mightily pleased to pick up their second win of the season last time out, a victory that lifted them out of the bottom two and which was inspired by new skipper Richard Hawthorne.

He took over from Phil Heslop, who reluctantly stood down due to a weather induced backlog of farming duties.

But Hawthorne and his team will be fully tested when they entertain table-toppers Darlington, particularly as they have to cope with two more absentees with Ed Johnson and John Cavanagh missing. Mark James and Mal Dickinson are called up.

Quakers have three spaces to fill with Jack Vickerman and Adam Baldwin away and Liam Coates suspended, so Danny Morgans and Simon Lee start, along with debutant Callum Lethbridge.

And the youngster has earned his call - he has picked his way through the rainfall and play 25 matches for the club at various levels, and has scored 737 runs, the leading aggregate of any NYSD player.

Third-placed Great Ayton entertain second-bottom Thornaby with Mattie Wilkinson returning to the home dressing room. The visitors will be skippered by Danny Wade in the absence of regular captain Marc Bould who has family commitments. Danny Clarke returns.

Marske have a few selection problems to contend with as both the Carroll lads are sidelined by injury.

Jordan fractured a bone in his hand when attempting to take a catch from his own bowling in the last match, while Josh is ruled out by a troublesome back. With Karl Bramwell also unavailable the return of skipper Jon Nicholls from holiday is welcome.

The Seasiders entertain Marton who are beginning to show signs of a return to form, although they, too, have to cope with several absentees with Chris Veazey, Chris Simpson and John Glenedenen all out.

Middlesbrough's Paul Johnston is still in the States so they expect to be unchanged at Guisborough, Brett Roberts faces a late fitness test on a tight hamstring before Normanby Hall tackle a Hartlepool side that selects Peter Rhoden for the unavailable John Cannon, and unchanged Billingham take on Stokesley.

In division one it looks like a straight three-horse race for the two promotion spots.

Redcar lead the way, but just by four points from Saltburn who have a game in hand on them and two on Bishop Auckland.

Bishops are only three points further back in third, although a recent run of bad luck with the weather means they now have to play catch up with their seaside rivals.
