DURHAM'S County Championship game with Sussex will go ahead as planned this week despite the collapse of a stand during Saturday's T20 international between England and the West Indies that left three spectators injured.
A hole appeared in the floor of the North-East Terrace at Emirates Riverside on Saturday evening, resulting in the evacuation of around 200 fans.
A woman suffered a broken leg as a result of the incident, and investigations are still ongoing.
However, Durham's four-day game with Sussex will take place as planned this week, with the action due to get underway at Chester-le-Street at 10.30am tomorrow.
A Durham statement said: "Durham County Cricket Club can confirm that Durham’s Specsavers County Championship fixture against Sussex tomorrow (Sept 19) will go ahead as scheduled.
"Due to the ongoing investigation following the incident in the North-East Terrace during Saturday’s IT20 fixture, the aforementioned stand will be closed for the entirety of this week’s match."
