LEFT-ARM spinner Karl Carver finished with an impressive 2-33 from 15 overs to help bowl Leeds/Bradford MCC Universities out for 202 during today’s second afternoon at Headingley.

The 19-year-old warmed up for Sunday’s Championship opener against Worcestershire with the wickets of George Scott and Joe Ellis-Grewal, with his first eleven overs costing him only eleven runs, including Scott caught behind. 

Jack Brooks finished with three wickets, Steve Patterson two and Tim Bresnan and Will Rhodes one apiece as the students fell from 123-6 at lunch, conceding a 127-run lead.

Yorkshire lost Alex Lees early in their second innings, lbw to Alex Lilley, and they reached tea at 23-1 after nine overs. Will Rhodes and Dan Hodgson are the not out batsmen aiming to build on a lead of 150.
