SALTBURN’S match against Redcar is one of several derby clashes deliberately planned by the league for bank holiday Monday.

As well as the seaside duel, Barnard Castle tackle Richmondshire, Great Ayton play Stokesley and Middlesbrough meet up with Marton, with the fixture list being reversed at the August bank holiday stage to provide more local interest.

Before the game against leaders Marton the Boro have another Acklam Park treat as they play thirdplaced Darlington this afternoon, the Quakers able to include Steve Lister for his seasonal debut, although they have to reckon without both Lee Hutton and Ben Wicling.

As anticipated spinner Ryan Buckley didn’t make the Durham side for their championship match at the seamer-dominated Emirates, so Boro are hoping they’ll be able to select him for both their games.

They do, however, show a couple of changes with Adil Ditta missing tomorrow’s match and Paul Johnston working on Monday.

Top dogs Marton are another team hoping to have a county player available to them, but they may struggle to see young Ryan Gibson in either match as he has been performing well for the Yorkshire Academy.

Definitely missing the visit of unchanged Great Ayton this afternoon is Aussie Tom Reid, although he returns for the game at Acklam Park.

Fourth-placed Stokesley are boosted by the return of Will Brown.

Thought to have suffered a double fracture of the arm a month ago, his university studying and exam commitments have helped him pass away the necessary recovery period, and he is now fully fit to resume his place behind the stumps once more and add power to the middle order.

Normanby Hall are the visitors to the SCG tomorrow, their only absentee expected to be Chris Trillo because of work. He is back for Sunday’s game at Hall’s second home, Marske, as they complete another of their ‘home’ fixtures, this one the match against Guisborough originally scheduled for Monday.

The Priorymen are able to announce an unchanged side as they begin their two in two days with a Fountains Garth game against Barnard Castle.

In tomorrow’s final top flight match Premier champions Richmondshire entertain Division One champions Saltburn and then travel to Vere Road on Monday hoping to include Yorkshire player Lewis Stabler in the party making the trip.

In Division One, third-placed Northallerton get the opportunity to dent the promotion hopes of a couple of their rivals as they play at secondplaced Marske tomorrow afternoon and then follow up with a home game against a Whitby side who have won all the games they have played to date.

Leaders Seaton Carew begin their double at Brinkburn Road against Darlington RA and then entertain one of their expected challengers, Bishop Auckland, in their second match.
