THE Quakers’ appeal over which league the club will play in next season will be heard by the FA next week, it has been confirmed.

Community company Darlington FC 1883 has asked the FA to reconsider its decision to treat the club as a new entity and place it in the Northern League.

DFC 1883 chairman Denis Pinnegar and director Laura Drew will travel to Wembley for the appeal, which will start at 10.30am on Thursday, June 21.

Ms Drew said: “We have to be confident when we go down as we put forward a strong appeal, but we are taking nothing for granted. We will be well prepared and hope to come back with a positive and fair result.”

Very happy that DFC have appealed. We can't just be discriminated against, we just don't deserve this treatment. The FA are just a set of heartless suits with no grasp of football in the community.

taffydav, skallywag, swissball, randy mcflabb, = the usual mongo keyboard warrior's on here. they hav the time 2 read about darlo fc and mock.....move on fellas...dont need your sort on here...think u shud spend your time doin somet a bit more constructive dont you think. up the quakers.

Darlington have a 125 year tradition and should be treated with respect."--Whilst hoping that Darlo may play in BSN I feel respect should be earned.That they have a history of not paying creditors does not indict a demand for respect,as much as Darlo have existed for 125 years does not mean they have a right to exist for another 125 yrs...Good Luck Darlo
