She rode Sallly Ann Cowley’s nine-year-old Burfordly Valentino – by Kilvington Scoundrel – and also took a fifth in Amateur Hacks and eighth in the Intermediate Show Riding Type.

Jenna Tate, from Kirklevington, rode her mother Janet’s homebred five-year-old Rhyllanderell Falcon by Colbeach Night Light to finish fourth in the Arab section, while Lucinda Elliott, from Staindrop, rode Falcon and took seventh in the Intermediate show riding type.

Lucinda also had luck in the Skewbald–Piebald section when she rode Lindsay Birtwell’s Great Yorkshire champion Login Lucky Lad into fourth place.

The coloured produced good performances for Sophie Staveley, riding Elizabeth Carpenter’s four-year-old Chiddock Sky Light, and was runner-up in the large ridden.

Nunthorpe’s James Hunton had a good third in his section for Alice Newsom, riding Tidkin Royal Mannequin, bred by Stephanie Towers, and was reserve supreme in the Randy Allison championship at 3A.

James had good luck riding Lucy Thornhill’s Viva La Diva.

Peter, Claire and Claire Emmerson, from Stokesley, had a good third in the lead rein show hunter with Abbie Farmer riding Karen Fuge’s Charn Secret Legend. Danielle Burnip produced a good third with Wingland Make Believe.

The stable also had a good third, with Jessica Reed riding Thamevalley Blackjack. Jerome Harforth’s stable had a good fourth in the Intermediate for Melissa McCluskey, while Simon Charlesworth rode the late Sheila Fenwick’s Baydale Venus in the hack section with Amelia Allen scoring a fifth with Walstead Page Boy.
