THE final of the Walsh Cup - one of 2 T20 knockout trophies competed for annually by the clubs within the Northallerton Evening Cricket League - took place at Leake Cricket Club in Knayton on Tuesday 10 July 2018 and saw East Harlsey claim a 7 wicket victory over Northallerton Rugby Club.

Northallerton Rugby Club batted first and, despite losing regular wickets, maintained scoring momentum to reach 128-7 off their 20 overs with T Gaffney 26, M Pears 22 not out and B Smith 21 contributing the bulk of the runs. Shaun Goswami with 3-26 off 4 and Dave Armitage with 2-31 off 5 were the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, a fine spell of 2-11 off 5 overs by A Kennedy of the Rugby Club restricted East Harlsey scoring before Tim Parker 38 and Sam Gaudie 37 not out combined to see East Harlsey home with 9 balls to spare.

Councillor Bob Baker of Hambleton DC presented the Walsh Cup to Tim Parker, captain of the winning East Harlsey team.
