YOUNGSTERS from the Riding for the Disabled Team at Welburn Hall School excelled themselves in a regional championship.
The four pupils competed in the RDA North East and South Yorkshire Regional Finals for The Countryside Challenge and Dressage Competition.
Zac North won the Countryside Challenge Competition, with Alistair Scott coming second and both qualifying for the National Championships in Gloucestershire.
Alice Lamb finished third and Beatrice Baldwin came fourth.
Beatrice was the winner of her section of The Introduction to Dressage, with Alistair, Alice and Zac all following in second, third and fourth.
A spokeswoman for the group said: "They all did extremely well on the ponies lent by local families, but especially Beatrice who was thrown from her horse in the final practise due to a very low flying aircraft that frightened all the ponies."
To raise funds for the RDA Group this year, Tracy Shaw opening her garden to the public at Rose Cottage, Boltby, near, Thirsk, on Friday, June 22 at 6.30 pm.
Entrance is £5 to include a drink.
