CONTRARY to national trends at the decline in Saturday 11 a-side football, a brand new team has been formed at Rillington to be known as Rillington Rovers who were hoping to get elected into the Newitts.com Beckett Football League at its AGM.

How did the team come about, a group of 16-18 young mem got together and starting weekly training sessions at Malton’s Sport Centre back in January, interest grew, and the Rillington Rovers club was formed towards the end of the past season, Chairman is Andrew Rouph with his brother Simon the Secretary and Treasurer, Andrew Paine is Vice Chairman, Philip Rouph is the team manager with Tim Peacock the assistant manager.

Training sessions are held every Thursday at 7.30pm on the Rillington Football Field, at the Recreation Ground, Hugh Street, Rillington, anyone wishing to join the club is asked to attend training.
