WITH Christmas a distant memory Allerton Junior Athletics club athletes have been braving the elements and tackling a variety of events.
On Saturday 30th December 2017 Sam Archer and Annabelle Coxon took part in York’s New Year relay cross country event. In the 1 mile event Sam Archer finished as outright winner and Annabelle Coxon was the first female across the line finishing 3rd.
On Sunday 31st December 2017 Holden Outhwaite tackled Redcar Junior Parkrun. Holden put in a determined run to finish in 1st place.
On Saturday 06th January 2018 Head coach Glen Hilton took part in the Fountains Abbey parkrun. Glen finished 1st in his age category 2nd overall.
Also on Saturday 06th January 2018 AJAC made its debut as a club at the YCAA Yorkshire Cross Country Championship held at Lightwater Valley Theme Park. Lois Bell, Beth Swales-Williams, Campbell Darcy and Paddy Harrison tackled the brutal course and all did themselves proud against the counties best cross country runners.
