THIS week Richmond and Zetland Harriers were out in force at the Ravenstonedale 10k, the Gavin Duffy memorial 5km trail race at Stockton, Sefton Park in Liverpool for the cross country challenge and a few local parkruns. Carl Jones had another excellent run and took the top place in 5th for the club at Ravenstonedale 10k (37:40), very much a favourite for a large number of our runners. Ronnie Corbett in another good performance was next back for the club in 29th place (41:31), he was followed by a fine run from Lucy Goundry in 73rd (47:10, 2nd V40), Pauline Whittaker was also in good form in 98th (50:04, 2nd V50) and another good performance from Nikki Buckett in 179th (60:31). Closer to home it was the Gavin Duffy memorial 5k trail race part of the Stockton winter trail series with over 300 runners taking to the start line. Daniel Francis showed he’s in form in 5th and the 1st youth. Holly McCowie also putting together some great performances was 77th and the 2nd female youth and Emily Francis had a good run in 108th and the 3rd female youth. Kyle Rabjohn was on the road again to Sefton park in Liverpool for the Liverpool cross country challenge. These races are part of a series and also doubles up as the selection race for the European cross country teams. Kyle had another immense run and finished a fantastic 12th and only 35 seconds behind the winner who broke the course record in the U15 boys race.

At Catterick parkrun Charlie Stephenson took 1st place in a huge new pb (18:18, pb), followed by Stephanie Stephenson in 15th (22:17), Ryan Greer was 34th (24:34), Ian Hepworth in 35th (24:52, =pb) and Karen Greer in another great run for a big pb in 70th (29:21, pb). Northallerton parkrun had Ian Christon in 1st place (19:43) and followed by Shona Fletcher in 2nd (20:23). Jeremy Pattison took to the Riverside parkrun at Chester-le-Street and finished 4th (18:290. Steve Middleton and Ken Harker ran at Albert park, parkrun and both had good runs with Steve in 2nd (17:22) and Ken in 21st (19:21).
