NORTHALLERTON Tennis Club held its annual presentation evening, and a familiar face returned to hand out the prizes.

Wendy Hurworth, the North Yorkshire LTA area representative, travelled from Whitby to do the honours.

Wendy and her husband Stuart, who accompanied her on the night, had been regular team players for New West End in Darlington and played against Northallerton in the late 1970s and early 80s.

Fond memories were shared with some team members still playing today.

Wendy said it was heartening to see such a large group of enthusiastic, and obviously talented, youngsters.

Marje Bateson was also a welcome guest, presenting her own trophy to this year’s winners.
