A TALENTED teenager has been named Darlington Golf Club’s most promising junior golfer.
Ella Crang, 17, is currently Durham County’s Junior Captain and has collected a number of trophies and accolades since taking up the sport aged just nine.
Ms Crang, who has a handicap of five, practices for hours a day , takes part in tournaments across the country and represented the under-16 squad for the Northern Region.
She said: “I am so grateful to my family for the work they put in to help me achieve.
“I would love a career in golf, perhaps teaching.
“I have made so many friends and the golf has taken over my life. “At the moment, I am concentrating on my studies and practising as much as I can.”
Her coach, Ralph Givens from Blackwell Golf Club, said: “Ella is very talented and is a real credit to her family and the golf club.
“I feel she definitely has a career in the sport in whatever capacity she chooses.”
