A WOMAN yesterday appeared in court accused of kidnapping a
two-day-old boy from his hospital crib. Ms Diane Gillian Holmes, 29, was
charged with taking Charlie Waylen from a maternity ward at Bath's Royal
United Hospital. Ms Holmes, of Sedgemoor Road, Combe Down, Bath, was
remanded in custody until March 1 by city magistrates. There was no
application for bail. Charlie disappeared from the hospital on Thursday
afternoon and was recovered within four hours.
