SCOTTISH Trade and Industry Minister Allan Stewart yesterday laid

further foundations for a career in the construction business.

Asked to perform the official opening of the first office block at

Hamilton Business Park, the Eastwood MP added bricklaying skills to a

curriculum vitae which already includes experience with a road-roller

and JCB digger at the same site.

Last October, Mr Stewart

undertook the ground-breaking ceremony at the business park, and

yesterday he paid tribute

to the success of developers Waverley Properties, which has secured

three tenants for the first block, and is now beginning work on the

second six months ahead of schedule.

The park, when complete, will have accommodation for 500 staff.
