TWO YORKSHIRE golf clubs have joined forces to give members a two-for one deal.

Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club and Dinsdale Spa Golf Club have allowed members from either club to play both clubs for the price of one membership.

The link between Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club and Dinsdale Spa Golf Club is a move which is becoming popular between forward thinking golf clubs, offering their members the opportunity to play at more than one club; this means members can play social golf at the respective club for no extra cost, giving members added value for their membership fees by being able to play at two clubs for the price of one. The deal between the two clubs also allows members to enjoy the benefits of club membership, including discounted bar prices, when playing at the partner club.

The clubs joined together in September and during the first two months, more than 200 members from both clubs have taken part in the arrangement.

The clubs have much in common and share similar values, believing the deal offers an added incentive to both members and potential members. Dinsdale Spa Golf Club celebrated its Centenary in 2010 and Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club is currently celebrating its Centenary Year. They both have attractive parkland courses but offer different golfing challenges to all levels of players.

Thirsk and Northallerton club manager Robert Garner said: “As golf clubs we need to offer our members better value and our link with Dinsdale has given our members the choice of playing at two courses.

"Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club is celebrating its centenary year this year and the course could not be in a better condition”.

Dinsdale Spa secretary Tony Patterson said: “The arrangement provides an opportunity to play a different course at no extra cost and it is seen as a significant improvement in value to membership at Dinsdale Spa Golf Club.”

Both clubs currently have membership available in various categories and they have recently seen an increase in membership enquiries.
