BLUE STAR are the new leaders of Division One after they won 4-1 at Stokesley SC last Sunday. Shaun Charlton, with a brace, Gary Wood and Marc Higgins all found the target to maintain Star's 100 per cent start to the season and send them to the top on goal difference.

Sportsmans FC are second after they beat visitors Travaux FC by the same scoreline. A goal from Scott McNichol was all the Sporties had to show for their first half dominance but after the break Andy Ramsbottom, Jack Watson and McNichol again sealed the points. Travaux scored a late consolation.

Henleys Athletic have had a tough start to the new season but they made it two wins from their opening three matches by overcoming a determined Brompton-on-Swale, 2-1. The game was goalless for nearly an hour before Dan Baxter gave Henleys the lead, and after Gary Nicholson had brought Brompton level, Andrew Shepherd then scored the winner in the closing stages.

Broughton Hibs have also won two out of three after a 4-2 success at Catterick Village. A first half brace from Steven Kelly put the Hibs in control while Steven Penrice and Paul Storey sealed the points in the final twenty minutes. John Ford scored twice in the second half for Village, the second of which came from the penalty spot.

Stokesley Wanderers lead the way in Division Two after a 3-0 win at AFC Beckside sent them to the top of the table. Lee Holtby headed home a Shaun Harrison free kick to give Wanderers an early lead which Elliott Hollis doubled before the break. Man of the match Hollis then sealed a third straight win for the visitors on the hour after good work from James Yeend.

Gt. Ayton Sheriffs are second following a 5-1 away win at Topcliffe. Alex Grainge fired the Sheriffs ahead after ten minutes but Matthew Boyne equalised almost immediately. However, John Bennett and Thomas Nichols put the visitors in control by the break while Grainge, with his second, and Joe Marsey sealed the points late on.

Golden Lion, Romanby, have also won two out of two this season after a 3-0 success against Osmotherley Rangers. All the goals arrived in the second half as Tom Chapman, with a brace, and Sam Logan finally broke the Rangers resistance.

Brompton Juniors were the day's big hitters as they thrashed The Fleece Inn, 11-4. Colin Anderson, once of Sportsmans FC, scored four times while Adam Wilson and Eddy Codd both hit hat-tricks. Lewis Hogg was also on target as Brompton sealed an emphatic first victory of the season.

Standard FC are top of Division Three after hitting Northallerton Albion for ten. Albion restricted the leaders to goals from Dan Waind and Dean Greig in the first half but after the break it was a different story. Dan Kilvington and Phil Sharpe both completed hat-tricks while Waind, with his second, and Chris Gray completed the rout.

Knayton sit in second place after they beat Workies, 4-0. Sam Rayner, Matt Fishburn, and a brace from Nick Cressey; all in the first half, sealed a second win in three matches for Knayton.

County Arms, who won 5-2 at Streetlam Farmers, are yet to be beaten. Andrew Osgood gave Country an early lead which Jamie Callaghan soon equalised, but and a first half brace from Chris Foster put the visitors in control. Steve Taggart made it 4-1 before a Ryan Pelling solo effort gave the Farmers hope. However it was County who sealed the points seven minutes from time with a goal from Jordan Wallace.

League new-boys Thirsk Town picked up their first points of the season as goals from Josh Moore (2), Liam Cook and Dan George gave them a 4-1 win at Masham. Matty Tew replied for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Vale of York beat Oddfellows Arms 3-2. A brace from John Beales and a strike from Adam Winspear were just enough to give them all three points.
