SHERIFF Hutton Bridge lost out to Woodhouse Grange in a clash between the league’s top two.

Batting first, the Bridge’s Rob Pinder made 65 in their 155-9.

Woodhouse’s Andy Bilton hit 83 not out and Matt Hattee scored an unbeaten 50 as they took their side to an eight-wicket win which may have sealed the title.

Easingwold moved into second place when they disposed of Sewerby with some ease. Sewerby only made 97 as Steve Piercy grabbed 5 for 21. Piercy then hit 51 runs in an eight-wicket win.

At Stamford Bridge, the home side had reached 160-4 when their game was called off – Dominic Rhodes hit an unbeaten 93.

Beverley got 27 points and Studley 17 from a draw at Studley Royal. In Beverley’s 209-7, Jon Fisher made 57 as Dan Craven claimed 3 for 47. In response, Richard Nicholson scored 55 and Steve Walmsley hit 57. Mal Pickles chipped in with 31 but Mudd’s 3 for 51 held the Royals to 193-8.
