AFTER a long season of mostly good weather and fine nights the penultimate round of fixtures in the Pilmoor Evening Cricket League brought about yet more twists and turns. The first division championship and relegation issues will all be settled in the final round of fixtures, as well as the second division championship.
Sessay lost their top of the table clash with Sheriff Hutton Bridge, who now — along with Thirsk — enjoy just a one-point advantage over the 2013 champions.
Clifton Alliance are languishing in bottom spot, but are only one point adrift of Newburgh who have slipped back into danger after losing at home to improving Alne.
In the second division, Easingwold kept alive their promotion hopes with a win over Acomb, but the York side still have matters in their own hands and a win in their final fixture will see them promoted.
