A HUGE entry in the junior class in the area show jumping event at Askham Bryan recently saw 90 competitors riding two rounds each testing the riders ability and stamina.

The Bedale and West of Yore team of Clemmie Corner, Olivia Murray, Cassie Ramsay and Issie Saxby finished 7th with Issie taking the individual first place. Ella Sharp, Amelia Murray, Lucy Barker and Jemima Sanderson made up the second team, all jumped double clears with the team taking third place.

The highlight of the day was unquestionably the performance of the intermediate team of Isabel, Polly Barker, Amelia Hattersley and Storm Straker.

In the jump off, the first three girls rode immaculate clear rounds leaving the opportunity for Storm to make a real effort to win the individual prize, which she did with a clear round six seconds faster than anyone else. Amelia took third place and after their victory the team are looking forward to their visit to the Cheshire championships in August.
