SKUTTERSKELFE PARK in Hutton Rudby is the location for Yorkshire’s next point-topoint which takes place on Saturday.

Racing starts at 1pm with the Hurworth Hunt race.

Blue Bertie won his Maiden race at the recent Tynedale meeting and could go close again in this but the winner is likely to be Ballyanrahan who scored at the Holderness meeting on Sunday, should he take his chance again.

Sixteen horses have been entered for the restricted race. Blackthirteen has been ultra-consistent and was beaten by the very impressive Bramble Vodka at the recent Derwent meeting.

Skybull has been a bit in an out since winning his Maiden race back in 2012 but could go close if he is in form.

Spruce Up is likely to be the runner for Steph Easterby.

“He’s ready for a run, following his win at North Carlton.” Reported the trainer.

The Ladies Open race is part of the AGA series where the winning horse will qualify for the hunterchase final at Stratford in May. Palypso de Creek is looking for softer ground and might just get that here. If he runs he will take all the beating. Former Grimthorpe Gold Cup winner Poppy Day ran her best race yet this season finishing second to Elusive Swallow at Whitcliffe Grange. Sea Scout has won at this course in the past and could go close again.

In the Men’s Open, Maxine Stirk’s charge Avinapaddy looked like he could progress on his Sinnington win. Drom won really well at Charm Park last week and Classinaglass is likely to represent the Steph Easterby yard.

Slick Operator is still an unknown quantity and has won his two starts well and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in the frame.

The fifth race is a conditions race where riders who are not defined as novice riders carry a 5lb penalty.

Kandelin ran well in a similar race at Whitcliffe Grange for Christy Furness who can take advantage of the lower weight. Chis O’Mahony is another who benefits and this flatter course is likely to suit Pegasus Prince. Sportingfriendship can go well for Harry Bannister but he will be carrying the penalty.

The Maiden race has already been divided and Norton Grove will be representing the Easterby yard.

Pulling up on his only start at Derwent he is likely to go better here with the benefit of experience.

He’lldofornow keeps improving and tactically astute Fiona Needham can guide him into the winners’ enclosure.

In division two Six A Side can go close for Will Milburn.

The horse has been improving with each run and a win would cheer up his injured trainer Emma Todd, who broke her collar bone in a fall at the Holderness meeting.

Skimbleshanks finished third last time and could be in the shake up, while Kilmacallogue Bay has been running well for his owner/rider Simon Robinson.

Depending on how he runs, Billy Two Tongues could have a hurdling career in front of him and this race is likely to be the deciding factor.

Racing starts at 1pm and the postcode for satellite navigation is TS15 0JL. Admission is £10 per person and the going is currently good with good to soft patches.
