Darlington's game against Wakefield at Heritage Park today has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
A team of around 25 volunteers answered an SOS for help by the club and worked on the pitch in Bishop Auckland this morning in an attempt to get it playable in time for kick-off.
A local referee carried out an inspection at 11am and deferred the decision until 1pm, when the match official, Rebecca Welch, called the game off.
With the sun shining, it was hoped conditions would improve, but an area in the shade in front of the main stand remained firm.
Quakers' next match is at Heritage Park on Saturday against Salford City and they are at Kendal Town on New Year's Day.
