RICHMOND Dales Swimming Club enjoyed medals success at the North-East Regional Championships.
George Catterall, aged 14, won three gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
His golds came in the 200m individual medley, 400m individual medley and 100m freestyle, with a silver in the 200m freestyle and bronze in the 100m and 200m backstroke.
Nina Holguin, 12, was another multiple medallist for the club. She won gold in the 100m butterfly, added a silver in the 200m butterfly and won two bronze medals in the 100m and 200m freestyle.
Other swimmers who competed in the age group event were Thomas Flower (14), Callum Hall (14), Yasmin Dixon (12), Christa Wilson (10) and Morgan Taylor (10).
In the 16 and over category, Charlotte Young (17) had a successful time in the sprint events, winning two golds in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle. She also won a silver in the 50m backstroke and qualified for the final in the 100m freestyle. Kieran Fryer (16) qualified for the finals of the 50m and 400m freestyle, while recording personal best times in all of his events.
Louise Barker (14) won a bronze medal in the junior girls 50m freestyle, while also qualifying for the final of the 100m freestyle. Callum Hall (14) was also a bronze medal winner in the junior boys 50m freestyle. Hannah Darby (14) also qualified for the final of the open girls’ 50m breaststroke.
Nina Holguin (13), competed in this event alongside the age group championships. She qualified for finals in both the 50m and 100m butterfly, winning a silver medal in the junior 50m butterfly.
Other swimmers who took part were Liam Rabjohn, Annabel Wright, Luke Salvin, all recording personal best times.
Over the championships, Richmond won a total of 16 medals, which was more than double the club’s total last year.
