THIRSK White Horse swim team members competed in four events over the weekend of October 26 and 27.

First was the in-house Tadpole gala, contested by club swimmers aged nine and under for the overall Tadpole trophies and age group trophies.

The overall winners were seven-year-olds Callum Russell and Millie Mayger.

Age group winners: six years, Charlie Thompson; seven years, Millie Mayger and Callum Russell; eight years, Millie Thompson and Charlie Shepherd; nine years, Eleanor Fountain and Erin Walker (joint) and George Bond.

The annual Kirsten Trophy, awarded to the youngest swimmer in the Hambleton area to swim 25m unaided went to Nadine Wilson, aged five, for the second year running.

On Sunday, 15 swimmers travelled to Beverley Leisure Centre to compete in the South Axholme Sharks Halloween meet. Swimmers Freya Colwell, Hattie Colwell, Noah Dale, Jenna Flintoff, Jasmine Harrison, Adam Johnson, Ceri Jones, Connor Malone, Alex Millar, Cameron Russell, Ben Sherwood, Bronwyn Sherwood, Matthew Sherwood, Henry Stamp and Lola Walker swam in 50 races achieving 35 personal bests, and bringing home 20 trophies.

Some of the same swimmers also competed in the Yorkshire Modern Pentathlon held at Bishop Burton and Beverley over the same weekend. Bronwyn Sherwood and Matthew Sherwood both came first in their triathlons with personal best swims. Jasmine Harrison came first in the tetrathlon with another personal best swim. Adam Price was first in the pentathlon, with Charlie Price and Toby Price both second in their pentathlons.
