Quakers arrange Friday friendly at Durham
With no league game this weekend, Darlington have arranged a friendly to be played at Durham City tomorrow evening.
They will face Consett and manager Martin Gray will field a strong line-up made up primarily of senior players, though there is likely to be at least one trialist in the team.
He is keen to bolster a defence that has looked less than secure in the club's past two matches and, with a date for Gary Brown's return still not set, a centre-back is the top priority.
Gray has been running the rule over trialists in training, one of them watched Monday's win over Kendal Town and he will play tomorrow.
Gray also wants to use the game to give game time to Craig Turns, Craig Gott, Kerry Hedley and Paul Robinson who have not featured as prominently as some of their team-mates in the four matches so far.
Quakers are next in action on September 7 at Clitheroe while their next Heritage Park game is on September 11 versus Racliffe Borough.
They are not playing this weekend as teams in the Evo-Stik First Division are in FA Cup action. While Darlington also have a blank weekend on September 14, which is also an FA Cup day, they are expecting league officials to arrange an away fixture versus one of the teams knocked out of the Cup this Saturday.
Kick-off tomorrow is 7.30pm and admission £5.
