THIRSK Falcons have got a cup final to prepare for after seeing off Redcar Newmarket in a thrilling North Riding Saturday Challenge Cup semi-final.

Falconsdominatedproceedings against their rivals in the Teesside League and will face Scarborough League side West Pier at Stokesley on March 20.

Falcons have moved up from the old Harrogate and District League to the Teesside League, and are doing well so far in their fight to improve their rankings.

Falcons drew first blood when Stuart Rose dribbled around the opposition and volleyed a deflected shot home. DaveYoung scored the second from a free-kick after Rose was brought down 30 yards out to take a comfortable lead into the interval.

Rose added a third, before supplying Dan McCalmont to score a fourth and final goal.
