GILLAMOOR reached the final of the Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy final after beating Bagby and Balk 7-2 last weekend. They will now play the winner of this week’s second semi-final between Union Rovers and Rosedale.

The first half was evenly matched with both teams scoring a goal each, but Bagby and Balk missed several good chances with the wind advantage.

Josh Tateson set up his brother Luke to open the goalscoring for Gillamoor after 20 minutes but Bagby and Balk equalised after 35 minutes when Martin Kendall scored with a finely struck 18- yard shot.

In the second half Gillamoor, with the wind advantage, restored their lead through Daryl Rivis. Scott Simpson then scored to double Gillamoor’s advantage.

Kendall scored his side’s second with a 25-yard shot for the visitors before Gillamoor dominated the rest of the game, scoring four further quick goals from Luke Tateson (penalty), Scott Simpson, Josh Tateson, and substitute Sam Brooker.

Man of the match winners were Josh Tateson playing on the left hand side of midfield (Gillamoor), Martin Kendall for his two well-taken goals (Bagby & Balk).
