Harriers have to settle for training runs
3:35pm Friday 1st February 2013 in Sport
ONCE again, it was a blank weekend for races so Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers members were involved in training runs, especially for those who have entered the London Marathon, with the date looming larg.
Before then, some members will be hoping to take part Thirsk 10 Road Race on March 24, if they can supply a marshal. The club championship for the season has begun, and the cross country race at Acklam, cancelled because of underfoot conditions, has been re-scheduled for the same venue on March 3d. The next Championship race, though, is the cross country race at Richmond on Saturday, February 16.
The Harrogate League fixtures have been announced, the first taking place at Otley on May 8. In a change from previous years, Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers will be involved with the organising of the League Handicap on July 10; details to be announced later.
