DARLINGTON’S midweek match against Shildon was postponed – and the club fear that they will lose yet another game to the weather this weekend.

With more than six inches having fallen on top of a frozen Heritage Park pitch, Quakers made a decision on Tuesday to call off Wednesday’s game – their third successive postponement.

They have not played since the January 5 win at South Shields, but with temperatures not expecting to increase before tomorrow, the visit of Celtic Nation to Heritage Park is also under threat.

No new date for the Shildon game has been announced, though the visit of Hebburn Town has been pencilled in for Wednesday, February 6 – three days before the sides meet again on Tyneside.

Darlington’s next game after Saturday is at home to Guisborough Town on Wednesday, January 30 (7.45pm kick-off).

Meanwhile, Darlington have been allocated 1,350 tickets for their game at Spennymoor Town next month and they go on sale today.

They cost £6 for adults and £3 for concessions (over 65s and under 16s). Season ticket holders will have a ticket reserved until January 31.

Tickets are available at Quakers’ club shop atthe Darlington Indoor Market.
