Golf: Catterick Golf Club

On a cold, snowy winter’s night, a superb turnout of members supported the club at its annual meeting on January 17 to hear the previous year’s reports from the captain, chairman and treasurer and to discuss the way forward throughout this year.

A record was achieved; the meeting lasted only 40 minutes from start to finish without a single contentious issue being discussed. Maybe that was as a result of keeping the membership informed during the year on what was happening and what steps were being taken to rectify situations as they were arising.

The treasurer reported a profit for the second year running, which in its self was a remarkably efficient effort given the bad weather that the country suffered.

New committee members elected – chairman John Ross; greens chairman Dennis McGregor; house chairperson Marion Palmer; vice-captain Steve May
