Darlington sign keeper from West Auckland

Darlington have tonight agreed to sign Mark Bell from West Auckland.

The goalkeeper will make his Quakers debut in Saturday's game at Durham City and replaces Jack Norton who has been released.

Bell was West's first-choice keeper and played against Quakers when Martin Gray's side lost 2-1 at Darlington Road last month.

The keeper also played in the FA Vase final at Wemley last season, as did Terry Galbraith, for Dunston UTS, who Quakers signed a fortnight ago.

Norton began the season as Darlington's first-choice keeper before briefly losing his place to Craig Turns.

However, Turns suffering a shoulder injury two weeks ago meant Norton was handed a reprieve, playing in Saturday's match at Newton Aycliffe.

No, Martin gray is simply improving the squad strength as players become available.

All the best Jack, hope you get something better, and maybe see you for the opposition somewhere. Will come and say hello if you do. Xx

Hopefully this is Martins first move to tighten our fragile defence, and hopefully reduce the amount of stupid goals that we have conceeded. What are the possibilities of Arjun coming back from Whitby in time for Saturday, it would be great to see him back in the team.
